# KingsChat vs Backcast

The clearest difference is rating: Backcast at 5.0 against KingsChat's 4.2. Backcast also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.8). KingsChat's advantage is ratings volume (126 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KingsChat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Backcast asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backcast holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KingsChat has 126 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

KingsChat ships an update every 2 weeks, Backcast every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
