# WFEC vs My Viasat

The clearest difference is rating: My Viasat at 4.1 against WFEC's 2.8. My Viasat also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 6) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). WFEC's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 16%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

My Viasat holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Viasat has 1.8K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of WFEC's written reviews are positive against 16% of My Viasat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WFEC ships an update every 6 months, My Viasat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
