# CounterPoint vs instax mini Evo

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CounterPoint at 88% against instax mini Evo's 42%. CounterPoint also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). instax mini Evo's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (4.7K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

instax mini Evo holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: instax mini Evo has 4.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of CounterPoint's written reviews are positive against 42% of instax mini Evo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CounterPoint ships an update fortnightly, instax mini Evo every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
