# 新华社 vs ECNS

The clearest difference is rating: ECNS at 5.0 against 新华社's 3.8. ECNS also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 19). 新华社's advantage is ratings volume (25 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 新华社 sells 19 one-off in-app purchases. ECNS asks for nothing beyond the download.

ECNS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 新华社 has 25 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
