# Magic Cube Timer vs Qubo

The clearest difference is rating: Qubo at 4.7 against Magic Cube Timer's 4.2. Qubo also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 31 months). Magic Cube Timer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Qubo sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Magic Cube Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Qubo holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic Cube Timer has 67 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Magic Cube Timer's written reviews are positive against 75% of Qubo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magic Cube Timer ships an update every 31 months, Qubo every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
