# Volunteer Connection vs RapL

Volunteer Connection and RapL both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 94% of RapL's written reviews are positive against 47% of Volunteer Connection's. RapL also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Volunteer Connection's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 79). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Volunteer Connection holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Volunteer Connection has 3.3K ratings behind it against 79, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Volunteer Connection's written reviews are positive against 94% of RapL's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Volunteer Connection ships an update every 2 months, RapL every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
