# ChicTimer vs Flowave

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flowave at weekly against ChicTimer's every 3 months. ChicTimer's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChicTimer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flowave sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChicTimer ships an update every 3 months, Flowave weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
