# Mail Master by NetEase vs 988 Desk

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 988 Desk at none against Mail Master by NetEase's 19. 988 Desk also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Mail Master by NetEase's advantage is ratings volume (2.3K vs 1) and review sentiment (67% vs 50%). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mail Master by NetEase sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. 988 Desk asks for nothing beyond the download.

988 Desk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mail Master by NetEase has 2.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Mail Master by NetEase's written reviews are positive against 50% of 988 Desk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mail Master by NetEase ships an update fortnightly, 988 Desk every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
