# DD vs Aprox

The clearest difference is rating: Aprox at 5.0 against DD's 4.2. Aprox also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). DD's advantage is ratings volume (327 vs 2) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DD sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 3 months and Aprox sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aprox holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DD has 327 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 44% and 43% positive.

DD ships an update monthly, Aprox every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
