# Retrogaming Collection vs Games

The clearest difference is rating: Games at 4.6 against Retrogaming Collection's 2.0. Games also leads on ratings volume (29 vs 2) and review sentiment (76% vs 68%). Retrogaming Collection's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retrogaming Collection sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Games sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Games holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Games has 29 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Retrogaming Collection's written reviews are positive against 76% of Games's.

Retrogaming Collection ships an update every 3 months, Games every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
