# Slidezilla vs Video Republic

The clearest difference is monetization model: Slidezilla at free with in-app purchases against Video Republic's subscription. Slidezilla also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Video Republic's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slidezilla sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Video Republic sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Slidezilla against 4.2 for Video Republic. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 250 and 328 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of Slidezilla's written reviews are positive against 79% of Video Republic's.

Slidezilla ships an update every 6 weeks, Video Republic every 11 days. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
