# SentinelRecord vs Hawgs Illustrated

The clearest difference is monetization model: Hawgs Illustrated at ad-supported against SentinelRecord's free with in-app purchases. SentinelRecord's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 246). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for SentinelRecord against 4.7 for Hawgs Illustrated. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SentinelRecord has 1.5K ratings behind it against 246, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SentinelRecord ships an update every 9 months, Hawgs Illustrated every 12 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
