# RPS vs Brightspeed

The clearest difference is rating: Brightspeed at 4.0 against RPS's 2.4. Brightspeed also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (3.9K vs 109). RPS's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brightspeed holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brightspeed has 3.9K ratings behind it against 109, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 7% of RPS's written reviews are positive against 4% of Brightspeed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RPS ships an update every 9 months, Brightspeed every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
