# Xender vs Air Share

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Xender at none against Air Share's 5. Xender also leads on ratings volume (18K vs 228) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Air Share's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Air Share sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months. Xender asks for nothing beyond the download.

Air Share holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xender has 18K ratings behind it against 228, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Xender's written reviews are positive against 56% of Air Share's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Xender ships an update every 5 weeks, Air Share every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
