# DICE vs Riff Roll

The clearest difference is update cadence: DICE at weekly against Riff Roll's every 3 months. DICE also leads on ratings volume (86K vs 1) and chart position (#4 vs unranked). Riff Roll's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for DICE against 5.0 for Riff Roll. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DICE has 86K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DICE ships an update weekly, Riff Roll every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
