# PDF Reader vs Interchange

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Reader at 4.9 against Interchange's 4.3. PDF Reader also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Interchange's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (212 vs 8). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Reader sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Interchange sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interchange has 212 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of PDF Reader's written reviews are positive against 73% of Interchange's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PDF Reader ships an update every 3 weeks, Interchange every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
