# FREEIP vs iDV PRO

The clearest difference is rating: FREEIP at 4.4 against iDV PRO's 2.1. FREEIP also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 12) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). iDV PRO's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (40% vs 25%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FREEIP holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FREEIP has 1.2K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of FREEIP's written reviews are positive against 40% of iDV PRO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FREEIP ships an update monthly, iDV PRO every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
