# Auricula vs Otonic

The clearest difference is update cadence: Otonic at every 5 days against Auricula's every 3 months. Otonic also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). Auricula's advantage is ratings volume (71 vs 4) and review sentiment (79% vs 67%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Auricula sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Otonic sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Otonic holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Auricula has 71 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Auricula's written reviews are positive against 67% of Otonic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Auricula ships an update every 3 months, Otonic every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
