# Auricula vs Ear Training

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ear Training at weekly against Auricula's every 3 months. Ear Training also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Auricula's advantage is ratings volume (83 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Auricula sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ear Training sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ear Training holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Auricula has 83 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Auricula ships an update every 3 months, Ear Training weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
