# iClicker Student vs Codon

The clearest difference is rating: Codon at 5.0 against iClicker Student's 4.4. Codon also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). iClicker Student's advantage is ratings volume (37K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iClicker Student sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Codon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Codon holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iClicker Student has 37K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iClicker Student ships an update every 6 weeks, Codon every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
