# Simeji vs Calcat

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Calcat at none against Simeji's 19. Calcat also leads on review sentiment (84% vs 64%). Simeji's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 105). On price, rating, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simeji sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Calcat asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Simeji against 4.7 for Calcat. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simeji has 1.2K ratings behind it against 105, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of Simeji's written reviews are positive against 84% of Calcat's.

Simeji ships an update every 2 weeks, Calcat every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
