# Simeji vs Japan

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Simeji at 1.2K against Japan's 20. Simeji also leads on device support (4 vs 2). Japan's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simeji sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Japan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Japan holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simeji has 1.2K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Simeji ships an update every 2 weeks, Japan weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
