# Flat Speedometer vs GPS Speedometer

The clearest difference is rating: Flat Speedometer at 5.0 against GPS Speedometer's 4.0. Flat Speedometer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). GPS Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flat Speedometer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and GPS Speedometer sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flat Speedometer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Speedometer has 4.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 67% and 66% positive.

Flat Speedometer ships an update every 5 months, GPS Speedometer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
