# Compass & GPS vs Nectar

The clearest difference is rating: Compass & GPS at 4.7 against Nectar's 2.8. Compass & GPS also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Nectar's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Compass & GPS holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compass & GPS has 13K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Compass & GPS ships an update every 9 days, Nectar every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
