# TaalMala vs Saregama Classical

The clearest difference is monetization model: TaalMala at free with in-app purchases against Saregama Classical's subscription. TaalMala also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.1). Saregama Classical's advantage is review sentiment (65% vs 34%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TaalMala sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Saregama Classical sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TaalMala holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 177 and 77 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of TaalMala's written reviews are positive against 65% of Saregama Classical's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TaalMala ships an update every 2 months, Saregama Classical every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
