# TaalMala vs Mridangam Studio

The clearest difference is rating: TaalMala at 4.3 against Mridangam Studio's 3.8. TaalMala also leads on ratings volume (177 vs 10). Mridangam Studio's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TaalMala sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Mridangam Studio sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TaalMala holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TaalMala has 177 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of TaalMala's written reviews are positive against 67% of Mridangam Studio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TaalMala ships an update every 2 months, Mridangam Studio every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
