# FieldSketcher vs Valcre

The clearest difference is monetization model: FieldSketcher at free against Valcre's subscription. FieldSketcher also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Valcre's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FieldSketcher holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Valcre has 17 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

FieldSketcher ships an update every 10 days, Valcre every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
