# Tripcast vs Eagle

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Eagle at none against Tripcast's 4. Eagle also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Tripcast's advantage is ratings volume (7.2K vs 14) and chart position (#126 vs unranked). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tripcast sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Eagle asks for nothing beyond the download.

Eagle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tripcast has 7.2K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tripcast ships an update every 2 months, Eagle every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
