# Desert Golfing vs Railbound

The clearest difference is update cadence: Railbound at every 3 days against Desert Golfing's every 2 weeks. Railbound also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Desert Golfing's advantage is price ($1.99 vs $4.99) and ratings volume (652 vs 119). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Desert Golfing costs $1.99 and Railbound $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Railbound holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desert Golfing has 652 ratings behind it against 119, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Desert Golfing's written reviews are positive against 80% of Railbound's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Desert Golfing ships an update every 2 weeks, Railbound every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
