# Chasing Silver Magazine vs Adirondack Explorer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Chasing Silver Magazine at 89% against Adirondack Explorer's 33%. Chasing Silver Magazine also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). Adirondack Explorer's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and rating (4.9 vs 4.4). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chasing Silver Magazine sells 32 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per year and Adirondack Explorer sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Adirondack Explorer holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 17 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Chasing Silver Magazine's written reviews are positive against 33% of Adirondack Explorer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chasing Silver Magazine ships an update every 23 months, Adirondack Explorer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
