# Text vs Alkompis

The clearest difference is rating: Alkompis at 5.0 against Text's 3.0. Alkompis also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Text's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Alkompis asks for nothing beyond the download.

Alkompis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alkompis has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Text ships an update every 3 days, Alkompis every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
