# Matco Tools vs WheelPrice

Matco Tools and WheelPrice both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 84% of WheelPrice's written reviews are positive against 35% of Matco Tools's. WheelPrice also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Matco Tools's advantage is ratings volume (5.2K vs 41) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Matco Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matco Tools has 5.2K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Matco Tools's written reviews are positive against 84% of WheelPrice's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matco Tools ships an update every 6 weeks, WheelPrice every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
