# Matco Tools vs FindPigtails

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FindPigtails at 83% against Matco Tools's 35%. FindPigtails also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Matco Tools's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (5.2K vs 11). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Matco Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matco Tools has 5.2K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Matco Tools's written reviews are positive against 83% of FindPigtails's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Matco Tools ships an update every 6 weeks, FindPigtails every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
