# Matco Tools vs CRC Distribution

The clearest difference is monetization model: CRC Distribution at free against Matco Tools's free with in-app purchases. CRC Distribution also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 14.0). Matco Tools's advantage is ratings volume (5.1K vs 2) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CRC Distribution holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matco Tools has 5.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Matco Tools ships an update every 6 weeks, CRC Distribution every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
