# Matco Tools vs Olight

The clearest difference is rating: Matco Tools at 4.7 against Olight's 4.2. Matco Tools also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (5.1K vs 70). Olight's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Matco Tools holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Matco Tools has 5.1K ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of Matco Tools's written reviews are positive against 30% of Olight's.

Matco Tools ships an update every 6 weeks, Olight every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
