# YB Connect vs Wakespeed

The clearest difference is update cadence: YB Connect at every 2 months against Wakespeed's every 5 months. Wakespeed's advantage is rating (2.2 vs 2.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Wakespeed holds the better App Store score, 2.2 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of YB Connect's written reviews are positive against 33% of Wakespeed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YB Connect ships an update every 2 months, Wakespeed every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
