# Altimeter vs Altimeter

The clearest difference is ads: Altimeter at none against Altimeter's shown. Altimeter also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Altimeter's advantage is ratings volume (122 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Altimeter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Altimeter has 122 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Altimeter ships an update every 2 months, Altimeter every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
