# Grammarize vs Tense

The clearest difference is rating: Grammarize at 4.8 against Tense's 4.2. Grammarize also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 64%) and ratings volume (38 vs 11). Tense's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grammarize sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Tense sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grammarize holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 38 and 11 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of Grammarize's written reviews are positive against 64% of Tense's.

Grammarize ships an update every 6 weeks, Tense every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
