# Handloader vs Ballistics Calculator 2026

The clearest difference is rating: Ballistics Calculator 2026 at 4.6 against Handloader's 3.9. Ballistics Calculator 2026 also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months). Handloader's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Handloader sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per year and Ballistics Calculator 2026 sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ballistics Calculator 2026 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ballistics Calculator 2026 has 774 ratings behind it against 55, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Handloader's written reviews are positive against 40% of Ballistics Calculator 2026's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Handloader ships an update every 8 months, Ballistics Calculator 2026 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
