# Ciné Mérignac vs Director's Cut

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Director's Cut at 100% against Ciné Mérignac's 50%. Director's Cut also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 4 months). Ciné Mérignac's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Director's Cut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Ciné Mérignac asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ciné Mérignac holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Director's Cut has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Ciné Mérignac's written reviews are positive against 100% of Director's Cut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ciné Mérignac ships an update every 4 months, Director's Cut every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
