# Color Name AR vs Design Manager

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Design Manager at 100% against Color Name AR's 48%. Design Manager also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3). Color Name AR's advantage is ratings volume (8.3K vs 6) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Color Name AR sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Design Manager asks for nothing beyond the download.

Color Name AR holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Name AR has 8.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Color Name AR's written reviews are positive against 100% of Design Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Color Name AR ships an update every 2 weeks, Design Manager every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
