# Colored Note vs Speed Dial Widgets

The clearest difference is update cadence: Colored Note at weekly against Speed Dial Widgets's every 4 months. Colored Note also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (5K vs 185). Speed Dial Widgets's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 54%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Colored Note holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Colored Note has 5K ratings behind it against 185, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Colored Note's written reviews are positive against 78% of Speed Dial Widgets's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Colored Note ships an update weekly, Speed Dial Widgets every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
