# iFiles vs Document Reader

The clearest difference is ratings volume: iFiles at 3.2K against Document Reader's 9. On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iFiles sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Document Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for iFiles against 4.6 for Document Reader. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iFiles has 3.2K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iFiles ships an update every 3 weeks, Document Reader every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
