# Game Master 5th Edition vs Character Sheet

The clearest difference is rating: Game Master 5th Edition at 4.7 against Character Sheet's 4.2. Game Master 5th Edition also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 276). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Game Master 5th Edition sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Character Sheet sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Game Master 5th Edition holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Game Master 5th Edition has 1.6K ratings behind it against 276, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Game Master 5th Edition's written reviews are positive against 86% of Character Sheet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Game Master 5th Edition ships an update every 9 days, Character Sheet every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
