# myControl® vs Crestron Home

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Crestron Home at 43% against myControl®'s 0%. Crestron Home also leads on ratings volume (108 vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months). myControl®'s advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

myControl® holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crestron Home has 108 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of myControl®'s written reviews are positive against 43% of Crestron Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

myControl® ships an update every 8 months, Crestron Home every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
