# myControl® vs Control4

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Control4 at 39% against myControl®'s 0%. Control4 also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (70 vs 3). myControl®'s advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

myControl® holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Control4 has 70 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of myControl®'s written reviews are positive against 39% of Control4's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

myControl® ships an update every 8 months, Control4 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
