# Tapsnap Sharing vs RICOH THETA

The clearest difference is rating: Tapsnap Sharing at 5.0 against RICOH THETA's 4.6. Tapsnap Sharing also leads on iOS requirement (9.1 vs 15.0). RICOH THETA's advantage is ratings volume (1.9K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tapsnap Sharing holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RICOH THETA has 1.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tapsnap Sharing ships an update every 4 months, RICOH THETA every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
