# Draft Paper vs Napkin Plan

The clearest difference is rating: Draft Paper at 4.4 against Napkin Plan's 3.5. Draft Paper also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (16K vs 4). Napkin Plan's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Draft Paper sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Napkin Plan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Draft Paper holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Draft Paper has 16K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 51% and 50% positive.

Draft Paper ships an update every 2 weeks, Napkin Plan every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
