# Altershot vs Lightme

The clearest difference is price: Lightme at Free against Altershot's $4.99. Lightme also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.9) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). Altershot's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and review sentiment (86% vs 75%). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Lightme is free to download; Altershot costs $4.99 up front. Lightme sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Altershot asks for nothing beyond the download.

Lightme holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lightme has 103 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Altershot's written reviews are positive against 75% of Lightme's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Altershot ships an update every 4 months, Lightme every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
