# Sandboxx vs Scout Local

Sandboxx and Scout Local both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Scout Local's written reviews are positive against 73% of Sandboxx's. Scout Local also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). Sandboxx's advantage is ratings volume (180K vs 1) and chart position (#117 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Sandboxx against 5.0 for Scout Local. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sandboxx has 180K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of Sandboxx's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scout Local's.

Sandboxx ships an update every 10 days, Scout Local every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
